I'M LOVIN IT

HOLA MY BEAUTIFUL FAM.
I am still happy and HEALTHY. All the members here are so shocked when I tell them I don't feel sick at all because apparently for most North Americans are so so sick most of the time. So that's been a great great blessing!
Also the food here. SO GOOD. Lots of arroz and papas and PAN.SOO GOOD. But its all really good.
Right now I´m serving in one of the best wards. They have been such a great blessing and both of our investigators with baptism dates both were references from the ward. The two investigators with baptism dates are Mariana and Maria de los Angeles. Maria de los Angeles will hopefully be getting baptized at the end of this month which is great!
I love all the people here!!! They're all so extremely open and most are so prepared for this gospel its incredible.
We had so many amazing experiences teaching. Hermana Miranda is teaching me so much. Yeah half the time she has to repeat herself because I don´t understand but Im learning alot and also teaching her English which is way fun!
There are 5 Hermanas in our area because we just got a new Hermana transfered into our are into a trio with the other Hermanas. Theyre really great and Ive learned alot from them too.

Last Monday for P-day we went to the Plaza de Armas and it was way cool!! Its in the center of Arequipa. Such cool architecture and they have these markets with all this cool Peruvian stuff. It was so cool. I´m gonna get some way cool stuff there. It was a super fun day. Super sad that I cant figure out how to get my pictures on to these computers because its so beautiful here and I took so many pictures at the Plaza de Armas. I´ll figure it out and send lots of photos soon.

So the weather here during the day is so nice. Sunny and warm. Its so great. But once 6:00 hits. I'M FROZEN. Its soooooo cold. I was not expecting it to get that cold but the night time is freezing. Walking to appointments and we do most of our teaching on the front porches of peoples houses we just sit there FROZEN teaching the gospel.

I'm LOVING it here. So many awesome and cool experiences!!
I love this work. LIKE ALOT. Yeah its incredibly hard
but its also incredibly worth it.
THIS GOSPEL IS TRUE.
God loves us all.
I love yáll

Spanish of a Two Year Old and MIRACLES.

HOLAAAAAA!!
I´m still alive, HEALTHY and happy!!!
Seriously you could not wipe the smile off of my face. I LOVE THIS PLACE. This area is so so pretty!! So many mountains and volcanos. Way pretty. The sunsets are so so pretty. The people are all so kind and wonderful. Since me and Hermana Miranda both knew nothing about the area and knew no one in the ward except the family that we live with (Who are super great and make the BEST food) We spent the first night out with one of the members Mosíah who introduced us to a bunch of members and helped us figure out all the streets and everything. We´ve had a member go to almost every single lesson with us. Which has been an AWESOME blessing. They all have super strong testimonies. I am still a lost little puppy with Spanish but I´m learning more and more everyday and it´s getting alot better. We were at the ward mission leaders house and their 4 year old son said a prayer and I was like I pray like a 2 year old because It was such an amazing prayer. SO my language skills are at like the level of a 2 year old but its okay. I´m getting better.
Speaking of dogs, they are everywhere. On the roads, in every single house, on the roofs of houses. Dogs Taxis and Buses that barely stop when someone wants to get off. That´s what you see everywhere you turn. One night we were out going to an appointment  and on one of the streets every single house had like 3 dogs on top of it. And like 15 dogs were barking at us from the roof. It was so loud and Hermana Miranda still continued to try and contact this family in the middle of the street even though you couldn't hear anything over the dogs barking. We have like 10 people who we are teaching the lessons to and we have one with a baptism date! We have 4 others committed to be baptized they just don't have dates yet. We have been working non stop for the past week and its been a blast! I've gotten way good at the Restoration lesson because we teach it to almost everyone we see. The people here are really amazing. Lots of them have been so prepared. Their hearts are ready and open.
One of my favorite stories from this week happened yesterday. Now we have defintely had alot of miracles but this one really shows that God can answer prayers.
We invited so many people to church and we were even picking up some of them to take them. The only one who didnt fall through and not come to church with us was Anhgelo, who is an 8 year old boy of a very less active family that we´re helping prepare for his baptism (His baptism doesn´t count as a convert baptism but We got permission to help him prepare for his baptism. He´s super adorable so its fun teaching him!)
So all of the other people didnt come to church, so me and Hermana Miranda still prayed that somone would come to church and be ready to taught.
One of the Young Woman, Natali, in ward came and found us after sacrament meeting was like HEY so there is this old investigator of the church who just came into young womens and hasnt been baptized yet but shes super interested in taking the lessons again. You need to talk to her.
So we did and we have an appointment for tomorrow. She said shes really thought about Baptism!
MIRACLE.
Ive had so many oppurtinites to sing and share my talents. So thats been really awesome.
My spanish is better when Im singing haha.
Its been a super great week and so much has happened! I love being a missionary and I feel God´s love for all of these people. I love having the oppurtunity to be a missionary.
God loves yall and so do I <3
Until next P-Day

PRIMERO AREA: AREQUIPA

HOLA MI AMIGOS Y FAMILIA.
LONGEST DAY OF MY LIFE AND ITS NOT OVER YET:
but first short recap of the CCM this week.
So hard to say goodbye but the field is great!
We had classes and everything else.
It was pretty normal. On Sunday I sang a solo in Church "Savior Redeemer of My Soul/Called to Serve" and it was so fun and I love being able to share my testimony through song.
I was then invited to sing it again that night for the whole CCM which was also great. The CCM was such a great experience and I'm so grateful for all I learned there.

BUT NOW SINCE THIS MORNING IVE BEEN IN THE CAMPO DE MISSIONAL (Mission Field)
We had to get up at 4 am this morning to fly here, which was CRAZY.
But we did it!!
Arequipa is so so pretty. Wow. Defintely not in the United States anymore.
We went to the Temple site where they are building the temple and its in such a great place. So so pretty. It'll be amazing when its finished.
Presidente y Hermana Johnson are such amazing people like wow.
Love them already!

My first compañera is Hermana Miranda! Shes from Chile and is so amazing!
She speaks almost no English so that has been an adventure. Ive understood alot of what has been said today which is good!
But I do get lost in the Spanish alot but I got this.

My area is right here in Arequipa. Its a little big but we can do this.
Its very very pretty and I cant wait to continue to talk to these amazing people in my sad broken Spanish.
Wow I love this gospel and all that it brings.
Missions are hard but as someone said in the CCM
"I've never been so happy to be so tired"
And I couldn't of said it better.
Until next PDAY. Lots of adventures and tears before then.
I love this gospel and I love all of yall!

God Loves you and so do I.

Come so far, but got so far to go!

HELLO FROM THE CCM!
Just one more week here at the CCM and then I´m out in the field. Which is insane YAY. This week was way good!! I finally started feeling better and we did some cool stuff.
Hit one month out in the mission which is INSANE. Feel like I´ve been here for three years though.
It was a pretty normal week and then Saturday came.
PROSELYTING.
Honestly before we went out I was freaking out. I was so scared.
But IT WAS SO AMAZING!
So they drove us out to part of the Lima East mission and they split us off.
My companion was Hermana Loor and she was so AMAZING! She was from Spain and she was so nice!! She started me right off talking to everyone in the street. The first person we talked to was so nice actually most of the people we talked to were nice. They all stopped to listen and talk to us. I started off really really nervous with the language and I didn't know what I was doing so we pulled off the side at one point and I said a prayer just to get the Spirit and my Spanish flowing.
It was such an amazing experience. The Spirit was so strong that whole day.
The streets are so different here. Everything is so different here. (Supposedly Arequipa is nicer than Lima though so it won't be exactly the same experience. I'm excited though).
It was truly a humbling experience to be out there with these people that have almost nothing. But they were so open to listening to my broken Spanish prayers and testimony.
I was able to teach this one girl a short lesson and also taught her some English.
(so many people here want to learn English)
So I taught her how to say Hello How are you and what is your name. It was way fun!
We taught her how to pray and it was just a very spiritual experience and I'm sad I'll never get to see her again.
I could pretty much understand alot of the Spanish that was said to me
I have come a long way but I got so far to go.
I loved having that experience and I´m way excited to see all that can happen in the mission field!
Only one week left here at the CCM.
Gonna make it count.
God loves yall and I love yall!
The gospel is so true and I love PERU. ( haha hope you love my cheesy rhyme)
<3
Adios friends and Family
Until we meet again next PDAY
-Hermana Howe-
PS all the missionaries in the CCM have started to pronounce my name as (OW-AY)
so that is way fun haha

1 All of the Hermanas in the CCM. Love them all so much <3
2 LAST TEMPLE PHOTO :( No more temple for 17 months :(

HAPPY DAY: ALL IS WELL

Hola my beautiful friends and family.
I was sick for alot of this week. I had a very bad cold and other not fun stuff BUT I´m feeling much better now. SO MANY NEW MISSIONARIES FROM NORTH AMERICA. We went from 16 of us to 34!!! Its been crazy!! But they´re all so great! They all have great attitudes and are always using Spanish even when they don´t know the right words. Its all so amazing!!! I am slowly getting a hang of this language. Only two more weeks in the CCM. Cant believe it!!!
Crazy things happen here.
One of the Elders in My district, Elder Doyle, is crazy. We came back from lunch one day and he had gotten three snails and placed them on Hermana Schmidt´s desk. Then he started putting them all over the room. He´s also thrown crickets on people while they were sleeping.
Its lots of fun.
Honestly I thought the spirit was really strong here the past few weeks but this week blew me away!! I can feel the Lord´s guiding hand in everything thing I do. We also had so many good devotionals and my lessons with my investigators are going so well!! I'm really able to teach in Spanish.
I also gave a 5 minute talk on Sunday in Spanish. It was on Faith in Jesus Christ. That was wayyy fun.
The Second Counselor in the Presiding Bishopric came and spoke to us on Sunday and IT WAS SO GOOD. Made me so excited to get out in the field!!!
We also watched the Elder Bednar devotional on the Character of Christ.
It was so good.
It was all about how the Savior never turned inward. He always turned outwards and Its really something I need to work on.
I also love my district and all that they teach me. Such amazing Elders and Hermana. They're my family now. I love them.
So this Saturday I go trial proselyting!!! They´re going to take us to some place in Lima and put us on Splits with a missionary. I'M FREAKING OUT. I don't know how ready I am for that  but I guess we´ll see.
I absolutely LOVE being a missionary
I can´t believe I've been out for a month now. SO CRAZY! 17 more months to go.

This Gospel is so true and Christ is Our Savior and Redeemer. The Atonement is so real.
I love this gospel and I´m starting to love the Spanish Language a whole lot. <3

God loves yall and so do I <3

CCM HALFWAY WE GOT THIS

Hola my friends and family!!
Peru is still Peru and as crazy as ever.
We are now offically halfway through the CCM! Wahoooooo!!! The amount of stuff I have done is amazing. Always so busy, busy, busy. But I love it. It´s been a crazy adventure. Ive been kinda sick this week so I´ve been struggling a little. BUT I got this. Our investigator this last week was Mateo. He couldnt read which made commitments a little hard but his wife could read so she read with him. He was an awesome investigator and my teaching got much better in the process of teaching him.
Last night I really felt the Spirit in a lesson while reciting the First Vision. Joseph Smith really was a prophet of God. It was a really amazing experience.
Classes are way fun and Spainsh is very slowly getting easier to understand. But I do alot of smiling and nodding and saying Si. But there is improvement.
Still playing lots and lots of volleyball.
Sundays at the CCM are the BEST. The spirit is so strong in chuch and Presidente Moore y Hermana Moore teach alot of the classes and they are so INCREDIBLE!! Im learning so much from them.
(Also If you remember that story that President Monson told about setting the field on fire with the matches when he was ten. My branch presidents house is built on that field and I thought that was a cool fact haha)
I also had the wonderful oppurtunity to be asked to sing a solo in the CCM Chior. I sang most of the first verse of This is The Christ (in Español of course) and Elder Hawkins who is in my district sang the rest of the verse in harmony with me and and it was really fun!
Then I had so many Latinos and Latinas asking me if I could sing for them.
It was lots of fun.

Last night all of the 3 week missionaries, so the Latinos and Latinas and the Americans who were here before I go here all left :(
They were some really amazing people and I can´t believe they're gone!
So today its just been my district which is only 8 of us. So the whole CCM right now is just us.
Everyone else will come tomorrow.
Which means starting tomorrow I´m a Hermana Training Leader!! YAY! Get to help all the new Hermanas out with my amazing three weeks worth of CCM and Missionary knowledge.

I hope yáll are doing well!!
This is the True Gospel of Jesus Christ.
It truly is.
God loves you and so do I

Hermana Howe <3

Latina

HOLA PALS.
Done so much this week its been crazy!!!!! I have loved being here like a lot but its also been so so so hard. We had to go to Interpol this week which meant getting up at 4 am to drive to a kinda sketchy part of Lima to do visa paperwork and everything was all dark and sooo sketchy. It was like really small and like a jail but hey i got my visa paperwork done.
I have never played so much volleyball. We play every single day. But it´s so fun! I´m definitely getting a lot better haha.Spanish is way rough but its slowly coming. I can pray and say a very simple testimony so its coming along.I´m learning that its hard for me to get along with some people but the Lord is really helping me.
The food is getting so weird. But its still pretty good. I eat a lot of ice cream so its ok.
I also got asked if I was from Spain because my pronunciation was apparently good. I was like uhh no. It was pretty funny so I´m pretty much a Latina. Sorta.
I love you all and I love this gospel!Hurrah for Israel.
